Our Camping Trip with The Swanson's and Birdsley's

The Birdsleys

I am trying to make up for lost time and back track a bit to blog some memories of the past two months. We have tried to start an annual camping trip with our friends. It started out a couple of years ago, before children came along and there were only pets. This year we added a bit to the mix with two 2-year olds and a 2-month old joining the crew. Who knew how this would turn out.

The morning started out with a downpour and a few text messages back and forth questioning the will to go camping. Leave it to Megan, the mother of the newborn, to say she is up for anything....so there you have it. You can't quite chicken out when she is willing to brave the possiblity or a drenched tent.

The campsite was surprising dry after the morning of downpours. We set up our tents, once again made fun of the Swanson's for having the smallest tent and the tallest guy and most people to cram into the tent. The kids were as perfect as could be and even the little baby was a piece of cake, I don't know what his mom was talking about when she said he could be a trying baby :-) We got togther around the campfire for chatting, ladderball, football, drinks, smores, a few tears from the kids, playing and more. Can't wait for next year.
